Earth Elements and Textures

These pieces are of indigenous plants in my area of Western Wyoming.  They are about attitude, interaction, and relationships.  Plants have tribes; they live in groups with their other favorite plants.  They have a long-term relationship with the earth and they live in their own special place.  Every year when I look for them, there they are again, resilient and standing tall.

I did this series at the edge of the forest. They are "plein air creations", the sun, rain and wind offered input, as well as a curious badger.  Sometimes things get a bit wild when a gust of wind picks up an art piece and takes it through the sagebrush. The pieces are finished in my studio.  Each piece is a unique Chine collé.
